So glad you like it! Technically, the current version you have will work on iPad, iPhone, or another computer. The newer version I am working on has password protection built-in for a server. I personally would wait for that version. The easiest type of server option is a virtual server. You just sign up with a company like Triple8.net or Worldcloud and they host your database in the cloud. That is what makes it accessible from any device. You just need the mother program (Filemaker Pro) installed on that device or computer. So if you just want BreederZOO on your iPad you would sign up with triple8 (or similar service) Download the FilemakerGo app and connect to your database server. Your purchase of BreederZOO includes one Filemaker Pro license for one year. One Filemaker license works on one computer and your iPad/iPhone (iPad and iPhone connections are free) If you plan on running BreederZOO on more that one computer you will need a second Filemaker Pro license ($65). Since I am a Filemaker Business Alliance member, I am able to buy the licenses in bulk and offer them to you guys at a fraction of the cost. You can also upgrade to BreederZOO Server (you would just pay the price difference). BreederZOO Server is BreederZOO + Filemaker Server. Filemaker Server is an upgrade that allow a database (like BreederZOO) to be loaded onto a dedicated server. A dedicated server is a single computer (in your home) in a network reserved for serving the needs of the network. For example, some networks require that one computer be set aside to manage communications between all the other computers. That computer can only be used as a server. You would still need hosting from an outside company like triple8, but you wouldn't need a virtual server since you would have your own. Does that make sense? The benefit of a dedicated server is it is faster than a virtual server. The downside is, it is more expensive and more complicated to get up and running.
